I decided to bring back an old segment, because i was introduced to an amazing band, though it's hard to call Owl City a band, as it's one person. His music is happy, and a "great mind trip" (to quote a youtube comment). They're a great pick-me-up. Now, a .zip might be coming soon, but I have to be at work very soon. So I'll leave you a couple of songs via youtube. They're absolutely brilliant. :) "Fireflies"
"Hot Air Balloon"

| Dear Today's Presenters,
Although stupid rules at our school prevent our teacher from ripping off your fingers or something for your blatant plagiarism, I have a few things to say. First, if you are going to copy and paste, at least be able to pronounce the words you stole. If you thought you were being subtle, you weren't when you couldn't pronounce such words as "illicit" and could not tell me what the the ONDCP was, when I inquired (as your presentation was on the "drug war" on the US/Mexican Border). Second, if you were going for even more blatant obviousness, you have achieved it through the fact that your sentences do not match up. It was chock full of broken sentences, clearly coming from an attempted mixture of your own work and stolen work. It was also plain to me which work was yours and which work was not. The work that was obviously yours had so many spelling errors and typos, that I wanted to rip my own eyes out. Just because our administration does not like our government teacher, and prevents him from doing anything in the event of plagiarism, does not mean that you can take advantage of this.
Kai Thx Bai.
Yours,
Disgruntled Student forced to Endure your Presentation.
P.S. If 90% of your presentation is going to be about the "Robinson Arguement" You should probably know who Robinson is.

| So, i went to my first official concert on friday night. It was free at the Lilac Festival. It was an MC Lars concert. MC Lars is a nerdcore "rapper". He was a Literature major at Stanford, and now he raps. But the cool part is that it's rap that has a point and is actually very smart rap. I never thought i would say that about rap, but MC Lars changed my mind. I went with one of my best friends, robotballet93, and we already really liked MC Lars. It was just a really nice perk that he was at the Lilac festival, which isn't that far from here. But because he can explain it better than i can, catch the Last.fm interview with him at SXSW (below). (psst... he's an english nerd... haha)
He also sings a song called "Ahab" which is the story of Moby Dick by Herman Melville. I found this very entertaining. But i was also very amused to learn that he has a song called "Hey there Ophelia" which is the story of Hamlet. There is also another one called "Mr. Raven" which is based on The Raven by Edgar Allen Poe. His songs are fun and entertaining. I notice something new that he's "rapped" about every time i listen to his songs. And i have to say , i'm a little bit addicted at the moment. I've put together a little sampler here, from two of his albums, The Graduate and This Gigantic Robot Kills. Enjoy! (But if you -really- like him..... buy the albums? please?) http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=ab085a86828545d44c17ca8801618ef7d14a69c77802c284c95965eaa7bc68bc

| Well, it's t minus 28 days until the last day of school. I have a few things i would like to discuss/rant about.
Why is it that i work my arse off day in and day out to be an honor student, while those who are completely slacking off are getting pushed along? People respond to incentives. This is a disincentive for me to even bother trying to work hard. Why should I care anymore? It's not like my college can rescind their acceptance at this point.
Currently, there are 63 people in my class. There are rumors, that could probably quite easily be substantiated, that only 40 of our class will graduate. But since this is a really bad graduation rate, most of these people will be made to pass, through means of either helping them, but more likely, inflating their grades, despite not earning the grades that are needed to pass. People do not learn anything from just being pulled along by the rest of us. WHEN will people see this? And don't give me anything about "No child left behind" I am WELL aware that this is a problem, but this was in practice at my school prior to NCLB.
And now, there is an article on CNN about our "Drop-Out Crisis". Seriously? Why would anyone drop out if they're just going to be pushed along anyway? There is going to be a "re-enrollment" movement now. Why should the taxpayers pay for this, when these people made a DECISION to quit. THEY decided, it's not the government's job to help them. And why are we mixing these people that clearly don't want to be there with the ones that do? I'm sorry, but required classes where these two groups mix are the bane of my existence. see also, Economics and Government, for 12th grade, in New York State.
end rant. | |

| So much for that posting everyday thing... yeah. right. :-P However, i DID finish my clothing revue project. The dress ended up being obnoxiously large. Which i'm okay with. And when i sit down, my skirt is so big, that i feel like some sort of debutante. and it makes me smile haha. My friends and I decided that my dress was closer to a seamonster than a dress haha. ( Pictures of the Sea Monster )And on another note, 6 days until Atlanta, GA!!!! :) | |

| So i've decided to participate in Script Frenzy, since April is so much more of an open month as far as free time goes, and i even have a full week off this month. Unfortunately, I don't really have any ideas. I was thinking of adapting a book, since it's allowed, but i'm not sure what book i'm going to use. I have to get a move on, and start something tonight, even if i don't stick with it, as it can just be a short section too.
As for school, April 1 is rather amusing, seeing as you can't really tell what's a joke and what isn't. First of all was the wonderful decoration of a trash can in the hallway so that it has teeth. There was also the placement of pictures of faces in the bathroom. so the moment you sit down... bam, there's a face staring at you. Today was also Poissant D'Avril, "The fish of april", a tradition in France. I didn't see too many fish this year, but i'm sure they were out there.
This is also an update due to An April of Updates, seeing as i've only posted once in the past three weeks, it is supposed to be an everyday occurrence, but well... i'm not sure if i can make it a full month. so we'll see.

| Robotics competition this weekend was an epic fail. We didn't even get picked for the tournament. Our robot was fine every time we were working on it, but once we got into the arena, something stupid would go wrong. We're pretty sure our robot has performance anxiety. :-P
I've decided to start a new plan for the last 66 days of school and such. New College, New Me, it is so..... aptly named. hehe. I've been getting a bit "fluffy" lately, so it's time to, you know, fix it. I won't say it's a diet, but that's essentially what it is, even though it is pretty much going to be an impossibility at Nationals in April, seeing as the most economically viable place to eat is an italian restuarant that gives you a crap load of food, and Bausch & Lomb treats you to amazing meals every night. But whatever. Now, i'm not saying it's a diet, but i am saying it's inherently eating less. Like, no extra snacks or anything during the day. They're always my downfall. always! I'm also not saying that i'm never going to indulge. I mean, seriously, i just admitted that i was going to in Atlanta. But at least we're doing enough walking to perhaps counteract SOME of it. I just want to eat better, and exercise more. That's all. :) And I basically want to do this because i don't want to be in college and being uber fluffy. It is said at RIT that every girl has been stalked* at least once, even if they didn't know it. Well. I want to keep up this tradition, i don't want to be looked at and guys go.. "yeah, right." I'm sorry, when you're at a school that there's easily a 3:1 guy to girl ratio.... well. I want to just feel better about myself.
Also, I have decided that April is "Post one blog entry everyday that yo u're not in Atlanta GA, because that's just the right thing to do" month.
*and by stalked, i mean... A guy was in pursuit of you, not like.. I want to find you and rape you stalked. And it starts like. the first week, apparently.

However, I am at a loss for putting all of this into words. :( It's due for submission at 11:59:59 PM EST on Thursday.... meh... I would also like to ask you, Flist, for your opinion on the Chairman's Award Essay....
